Shahdag welcomes its first tourists

The Shahdag winter and summer tourism complex already attracts foreign tourists wishing to enjoy the winter days in Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTa) has already started to receive appeals from local and foreign counterparts in order to accommodate tourists in the first summer & winter tourist complex Shahdag in Gusar region.

“The complex does not operate currently but they already receive applications. Those wishing to take advantage of the ski slopes and cable ways here need first to applicate. The complex`s operator number is 1110. All travel agencies of the country will be able to accommodate tourists in the resort and inform the leadership of the complex about the group”, said AzTa head Nahid Bagirov.

The construction of the Shahdag Winter and Summer Tourism Complex started in September 2009. The Complex is situated in the Shahdag National Park, 32 km from the center of Gusar. The facility is located 1300-2300 meters above sea level. The Shahdag Winter and Summer Tourism Complex is the first alpine skiing resort in the history of Azerbaijan.
