Netherlands-Azerbaijan Business Forum
15 April 2015

Maastricht School of Management (MSM), the Province of Limburg, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) and the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion (NCH) are delighted to invite you to the first Netherlands-Azerbaijan Business Forum on Thursday, 23 April at the Maastricht School of Management in Maastricht.

In recent years, Azerbaijan’s economy grew rapidly, and has become the largest economy in the South Caucasus. The backbone of the Azerbaijani economy is formed by the energy sector. One of the main objectives for Azerbaijan today is to reduce the dependency of its economy on oil and to ensure expansion of the economic development to rural areas. Due to this strategic decision to diversify its economy, Azerbaijan offers opportunities to Dutch entrepreneurs in the Agriculture and Food sector, Horticulture, Transport and Logistics, Water and Waste Management and in the Oil, sustainable Energy and Maritime sector. Currently, the Netherlands is the second investor, after Turkey, in the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan.
We are honored to inform you that a high-level delegation with prominent companies from Azerbaijan is expected to visit the Netherlands. The Minister of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Shahin Mustafayev, invited by the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, Mr Henk Kamp, will lead the delegation.
The goal of the event is to support the business relations between the Netherlands and Azerbaijan, as well as to intensify actual business contacts between companies from several sectors in Azerbaijan and the Netherlands.
